Vaginismus – pain with sex
There is much secrecy, despair and misinformation surrounding vaginismus – pain with sex for people with vulvas/vaginas. Few approaches combine mind, heart and body – and few prioritise the role of pleasure as part of moving from pain towards pleasure.
I am studying with Dr Martha Tara Lee to learn her approach in working with people and couples who are living with vaginismus.
Teaching from her personal and professional experience, Dr Martha Tara Lee has extensive experience helping people overcome vaginismus, and wants to train more sexological bodyworkers to offer what she has learned. It is a wholistic approach, based on consent, safety, choice, pleasure and erotic education.
Vaginismus can happen for people with vulvas/vaginas across diversity of bodies, ages, sexualities, genders, relationships, and sexual activities. I am so motivated to integrate this into my work and to offer to the communities and people I work with.
